The main duties include:-
(a) analysing the public sentiments on social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.;
(b) assisting in determining contents to be used on social media platforms of the Secretary for the Environment, taking into consideration the public sentiments;
(c) designing graphical contents of the social media platforms;
(d) producing video contents and taking photos for posts to be issued on the social media platforms;
(e) conducting researches on local and overseas practices in respect of the use of social media and any project areas as directed; and
(f) assisting in publicity activities related to the social media platforms of the Environment Bureau.


(Other Job-related Requirements: The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the bureau. The successful candidate may be required to (a) work irregular hours and overtime, including evenings, weekends and public holidays; and (b) work outdoors)

Candidates should:-
(a) have (i) a bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; OR (ii) an accredited associate degree/higher diploma in design or relevant subjects from a Hong Kong tertiary institution, or equivalent; OR an accredited associate degree/higher diploma with photography or video/film production as a subject taken from a Hong Kong tertiary institution, or equivalent; OR a diploma in design or relevant subjects from a registered post-secondary college in Hong Kong issued after the date of its registration, or equivalent; OR a diploma with photography or video/film production as a subject taken from a registered post-secondary college in Hong Kong issued after the date of its registration, or equivalent [see Note (1)]; AND
(b) have at least 1 year of relevant and proven full-time post-qualification work experience in design/media/journalism in a sizeable organisation; AND
(c) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 2 [see Note (2)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; AND
(d) have a good knowledge of social media management and research tools, online resources (including but not limited to Social Mention, Social Baker, Facebook Insight and voting tools); experience in operating social media accounts/pages for business use is an advantage; AND
(e) have a good knowledge of creating and designing social media post content and proficiency in application software including MS Word, and good knowledge in photography, graphic design and video editing software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, etc. ) is an advantage; AND
(f) have a keen interest in environmental sustainability and a good understanding of environmental policy is an advantage; AND
(g) submit 4 sets of his/her own creative production drafts to demonstrate that he/she possesses strong ability in creating and designing the content on the social media platforms [see Note (3)]: (i) a draft post with photo(s) for the Facebook page of the Secretary for the Environment; AND (ii) a draft post with a video of no more than 30 seconds for the Facebook page of the Secretary for the Environment; AND (iii) a draft post with photo(s) for the Instagram account of the Secretary for the Environment; AND (iv) a draft post with a video of no more than 30 seconds for the Instagram account of the Secretary for the Environment.
