(a) To assist in monitoring the progress of maintenance, repair and restoration works of historic buildings assigned and initiated by the Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO) and preparing site inspection report of the works; (b) To assist in carrying out condition surveys of historic buildings and preparing notes and relevant photographic records; (c) To assist in preparing tender documents including survey, estimation and details / tender drawings; (d) To assist in checking quantities for the estimates of works and assist in checking contractors’ payment applications, and vetting contractor’s submissions of technical and construction related documents; (e) To arrange and carry out site inspections of declared monuments and other historic buildings and the related maintenance, repair and restoration works that are under the management of the AMO on a regular basis and when necessary; (f) To prepare inventories of salvaged materials and relics from historic buildings and update stock lists for possible beneficial reuse of these materials in repair and restoration works; and (g) To perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.

Applicants should have (a) a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building studies from a Hong Kong polytechnic, polytechnic university, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, a technical college or a technical institute, or equivalent; (b) (i) Level 2 or equivalent [See Note (1)] or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language, in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent; or (ii) Level 2 [See Note (2)] / Grade E or above in five subjects including, Chinese Language and English Language, in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and (c) at least five years' full-time working experience in building works.
