A Contract Civil Aviation Electronics Engineer is mainly deployed to: (a) Assist the Senior Electronics Engineer to conduct critical technical assessment on potential operational impacts to the existing CNS/ATM systems due to construction and operations of the Three-Runway System (3RS), and recommend mitigation measures to safeguard aviation safety. (b) Assist for the 3RS project, in the preparation of tender specifications, project management, systems planning, design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning for the enhancement/expansion/modification of existing CNS/ATM systems; (c) Assist in conducting technical assessment on potential operational impacts and cyber security issues to existing CNS/ATM systems before and during reclamation/construction, as well as operations of 3RS, associated building infrastructure and recommend mitigation measures to safeguard aviation safety; (d) Assist in formulating requirements for provision/expansion/enhancement/modification of CNS/ATM systems with due consideration on the requirements of ICAO GANP and ASBU framework as well as ICAO cyber security requirements for ATM and associated ICT systems to support 3RS operations, including their accommodation requirements; (e) Assist in studying and recommending accommodation requirements and Electrical & Mechanical (E&M)/Building Services (BS) provisions for new Control Tower and associated building infrastructures pertaining to 3RS works; (f) Assist in the application of ICAO Safety Management System (SMS) on CNS/ATM systems for 3RS works and on change management to ensure preservation of aviation safety; (g) Assist in preparing cost estimate and financial submissions on the 3RS project; (h) Vet and provide comments on various technical drawings, scheme design/detailed design documents, computer modeling/simulation study reports of AAHK/consultants to ensure compliance with the ICAO requirements, GANP, ASBU framework, and CAD requirements; (i) Liaise with AAHK and other CAD divisions on matters regarding the design and implementation of new/enhanced CNS/ATM systems to support 3RS operations; and (j) Study and formulate plans for fallback arrangements of CNS and ATM systems/equipment under various failure/emergency scenarios. Note: May be required to work irregular hours including nights and weekends.

Candidates should (a) be Corporate Members of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (Electronics or Information Discipline) elected after 5 December 1975, or equivalent; and (b) have met Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent.
