職責
擔任本職位的教育署高級助理署長隸屬教育局常任秘書長,其職責如下:
(a) 就制訂、執行、監察和檢討香港學前至高中教育的課程發展政策,向教育局局長及常任秘書長提供意見和協助;
(b) 領導課程發展處、課程支援分部、教育基建分部及質素保證分部提供專業服務,並督導有關專業服務的發展和協調工作;
(c) 督導香港學前至高中教育質素保證制度(包括視學和學生評估)的發展路向,制訂策略以推行具成效的校本支援計劃和服務,並監察推行情況;
(d) 督導課程發展工作和推行策略,以配合香港不斷轉變的社會狀況及需要,促進學生的全人發展,並監督有關國民教育、中國歷史和中華文化、「科學、科技、工程、藝術和數學」(STEAM)教育、價值觀教育及應用學習課程的推行情況和推廣工作;
(e) 督導「資訊科技教育策略」的發展工作,並監督和監察香港教育城的工作,以支援學生在學習時應用資訊科技;以及
(f) 就教育事宜向課程發展議會、語文教育及研究常務委員會和優質教育基金督導委員會等多個諮詢組織提供高層次的策略性專業意見,並監督香港資優教育學苑。

Reporting to the Permanent Secretary for Education, the SADE is responsible for –
(a) advising the Secretary for Education and Permanent Secretary for Education on and assisting them in the formulation, execution, monitoring and review of policies on curriculum development from pre-primary to senior secondary education in Hong Kong;
(b) directing the delivery, development and alignment of professional services rendered by the Curriculum Development Institute, the Curriculum Support Division, the Education Infrastructure Division and the Quality Assurance Division;
(c) steering the direction of the quality assurance system for education in Hong Kong from pre-primary to senior secondary level including school inspection and student assessment and formulating strategies on and monitoring the provision of effective school-based support programmes and services;
(d) steering curriculum development and the implementation strategies suited to Hong Kong's changing contexts and needs to foster students' whole person development, and overseeing the implementation and promotion of national education, Chinese history and Chinese culture, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education, values education and Applied Learning courses;
(e) steering the development of the Strategy in IT in Education and overseeing and monitoring the work of the Hong Kong Education City to support implementation of IT in learning; and
(f) providing high-level strategic and professional advice on education issues to various advisory bodies including the Curriculum Development Council, the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research, the Quality Education Fund Steering Committee and overseeing the Hong Kong Academy of Gifted Education.

(b) 於取得學士學位後,至少具15年在教育界服務的經驗,其中至少10年須擔任重要職位,在教育界曾發揮重大影響或作出重大貢獻。曾在本地教育界服務的人士可獲優先考慮;
(c) 在領導及監督學校推行教育改革措施方面卓有成效,目光遠大,能從本港及國際視野剖析教育的未來發展;
(d) 具良好的溝通技巧及人際關係;
(e) 具良好的中英文會話及書寫能力,並能以普通話溝通;以及
(f) 在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績。

Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment and should have –
(a) a bachelor degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; plus a higher degree in education, and a postgraduate certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary education institution, or equivalent;
(b) at least 15 years' post-first degree experience in the education field, of which at least 10 years should be in a key position to have substantial influence and contribution in an educational environment. Experience in the local education field will be an advantage;
(c) proven track record in directing and overseeing implementation of reform initiatives in school education, and a broad vision of future education development from both the local and international perspectives;
(d) good communication and interpersonal skills;
(e) good command of spoken and written Chinese and English, with the ability to communicate in Putonghua; and
(f) a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test.
