職責
在外籍英語教師計劃支援小組[又名教學諮詢小組]內擔任諮詢教師。有關的職責包括:
(a) 擔當課程領導者角色,並與以英語為母語的英語教師及其他英文科教師在小學合作,推行課程;
(b) 為學校提供建議,以能有效調配以英語為母語的英語教師的工作;
(c) 定期探訪學校及為指定的15-20所小學提供到校支援,以助籌劃及推行校本英語課程;
(d) 就英語教學工作制訂有效的教學策略 / 活動及教材;
(e) 協助及監察在小學運用有效的教學策略及課程資源;
(f) 如有需要,為學生籌辦英語營等英語學習活動;
(g) 籌辦和進行分區研討會、經驗分享工作坊和聯網活動,以推廣成功經驗;
(h) 為英文科教師,包括以英語為母語的英語教師,策劃和進行教師專業發展活動;
(i) 與其他外籍英語教師計劃支援小組成員協作,並積極參與其工作;
(j) 定期諮詢主管人員,向他們匯報工作進度;以及
(k) 如有需要,按教育局局長或其指定人員的要求,執行與外籍英語教師計劃有關的其他職務。
To be an Advisory Teacher under the NET Scheme Support Team (NSST) (also known as the Advisory Teaching Team). The duties are:
(a) to act as a curriculum leader and collaborate with Native-speaking English Teachers (NETs) and other English teachers in the implementation of the curriculum at the primary level;
(b) to advise schools on the effective deployment of NETs;
(c) to conduct regular school visits and provide on-site support to 15-20 designated primary schools in the planning and implementation of the school-based English Language curriculum;
(d) to develop effective strategies/activities and resources for English language learning and teaching;
(e) to facilitate and monitor the application of effective teaching strategies and curriculum resources in primary schools;
(f) to organise and conduct English learning activities, such as English camps for students as and when necessary;
(g) to organise and conduct district-based seminars, experience-sharing workshops and networking activities for dissemination of good practices;
(h) to plan and conduct professional development activities for all English teachers, including NETs;
(i) to collaborate with other members of the NSST and contribute to the work of the NSST as an effective member;
(j) to consult and report regularly to the supervisors on work progress; and
(k) to perform any other duties with regard to the NET Scheme as and when required by the Secretary for Education or such other officers as the Secretary for Education may nominate.
入職條件
應徵者須以英語為母語,或具備以英語為母語的能力#,並
(a) 持有本港大學所頒授的學士學位,主修英國語文或英國文學或英語研究或語言學*或現代語言*或具備同等學歷;
(b) 持有認可的小學教育師資培訓學歷(例如:學位教師教育文憑(小學教育));
(c) 具備教授英語作為外語或第二語言的資歷達證書程度或同等學歷;以及
(d) 具有在獲取學士學位後不少於五年教授英文科的經驗。
具有本地小學教學經驗的應徵者可獲優先考慮。如具有校本課程發展經驗及/或曾擔任英文科科主任則更佳。
持有任何科目的學士學位及小學教育以外的認可師資培訓學歷及具備教授英語作為外語/第二語言的資歷達證書程度或同等學歷的人亦可申請,惟有關申請只在取錄完全合資格的應徵者後仍有剩餘空缺的情況下才獲考慮。
註:
#以英語為母語的人士是指自幼年時期已學到英語,並於青少年至成年期間在以英語為第一語言的社區內成長。具備以英語為母語的能力是指書面或口語溝通時能夠自然及流利地使用英語,正確地運用文法,並能表達創意。
非以英語為母語的人士是指非自幼年時期已學到英語,但其使用英語之能力在流暢度,準確性及創意方面均能與以英語為母語之人士無異,他們亦可獲聘為外籍英語教師。
*語言學或現代語言的學位須以英語為主修的語言科目。
Applicants should be native-speakers of English or have native-speaker English competence#, and should possess:
(a) a Hong Kong bachelor's degree majoring in English Language or English Literature or English Studies or Linguistics* or Modern Languages* or equivalent;
(b) a recognised teacher training qualification in primary education (e.g. a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary));
(c) a Teaching English as a Foreign Language or a Second Language (TEFL/TESL) qualification at certificate level or equivalent; and
(d) at least five years' post-graduate teaching experience in the subject of English.
Preference will be given to applicants with local teaching experience at the primary level. Experience in school-based curriculum development and/or as English panel head is preferable.
Applicants who possess a Hong Kong bachelor's degree in other academic subjects or equivalent AND a recognised teacher training qualification not in primary education AND a TEFL/TESL qualification at certificate level or equivalent may also apply. These applications may only be considered when there are positions left unfilled by applicants meeting all the qualification requirements.
# Native speakers of English are people who acquire the language in infancy and develop the language through adolescence and adulthood within a community where English is spoken as the first language. Native-speaker English competence refers to the ability to use English fluently and spontaneously, to give grammatically accurate responses in communication and to write or speak creatively.
Non-native speakers of English, i.e. people who have not acquired the language in early childhood, are also suitable for employment as NETs if their English competence is not different from that of native-speakers in terms of fluency, accuracy and creativity in language use.
* A degree in Linguistics or Modern Languages should be one in which English is the major language studied.
