The Contract Motor Driver should (a) carry out driving and transporting duties; (b) ensure the proper maintenance of the government vehicles under their charge; (c) keep the vehicles under their charge clean and tidy (d) make a report immediately in accordance with the prescribed procedures, if there is any damage to, mechanical fault in a vehicle or if there is any vehicle involving in an accident; (e) assist in feral cattle catching and rescuing operations; (f) assist in designing, constructing and repairing of cattle farm facilities and equipment; and, (g) perform any other such duties as directed by supervisors. [Note: An appointee may be required to (1) work in remote areas; (2) work occasional irregular hours and overtime; (3) work on weekends, Sundays and public holidays; (4) wear uniform due to operational needs.]

The applicant should (a) possess a valid Hong Kong Driving Licence for private car, light goods vehicle, public light bus and medium goods vehicles (i.e. Vehicle Classification Codes 1, 2, 5 and 18); (b) have completed Primary Six education, or equivalent; (c) have at least five years post-qualification driving experience; (d) be able to speak fluent Cantonese and read and write simple Chinese. [Note : Candidates are required to pass a driving test before the selection interview.]
