海洋護理督察主要負責(a)協助進行與海岸公園、海岸保護區及海洋存護的教育、執法、環境評估和其他諮詢工作；及(b)策劃及執行海洋生態研究，包括水底生態研究。
註：
須在新界工作，並可能須不定時工作（包括晚間及周末）、在基地以外的地方通宵工作，以及在部門或商業船上工作。
職責
A Marine Conservation Inspector is mainly deployed on
- (a)assisting in the duties related to education, enforcement, assessment of Environmental Impact Studies of projects and proposals, and advisory duties relating to marine parks, marine reserves and marine conservation; and
- (b)conducting marine ecological studies including underwater ecological surveys.
Note:
Required to work in the New Territories and may have to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends, to stay overnight away from the base, and to spend time at sea on departmental or commercial vessels.

- (a)
- (i)持有本港大學所頒授的自然科學、海洋生態學、環境管理學或環境科學的學位，或具同等學歷；或(ii)持有本港理工學院／理工大學或香港專業教育學院／工業學院／科技學院頒發的實驗室技術員文憑或高級證書，或具同等學歷；或(iii)持有本港理工學院／理工大學或香港專業教育學院／工業學院／科技學院頒發的自然科學、海洋生態或相關科目的文憑或高級證書，或具同等學歷；
- (b)
- (i)在香港中學文憑考試五科考獲第2級或同等(註1)或以上成績 (註2)，或具同等成績；或(ii)在香港中學會考五科考獲第2級(註3)／E級或以上成績(註2)，或具同等成績；(c)符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科考獲第2級(註3)或以上成績，或具同等成績；(d)在取得上述學歷後，至少一年相關工作經驗；(e)具有水肺潛水牌照及水底生態研究經驗者優先。
The applicant should have
- (a)
- (i)a bachelor’s degree in natural science, marine ecology, environment management, or environment science from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; or
- (ii)a diploma or higher certificate for Laboratory Technician from a Hong Kong polytechnic / polytechnic university or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical institute /college, or equivalent; or
- (iii)a diploma or higher certificate in natural science, marine ecology or a related subject from a Hong Kong polytechnic / polytechnic university or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical institute / college; or equivalent;
- (b)
- (i)Level 2 or equivalent (Note 1) or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; or
- (ii)Level 2 (Note 3) / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Note 2), or equivalent;
- (c)met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (Note 3) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent;
- (d)have at least 1 year’s relevant post-qualification working experience; and
- (d)preferably a scuba diving licence and experience in conducting underwater ecological surveys.

- (1)政府在聘任非公務員時，香港中學文憑考試應用學習科目(最多計算兩科)「達標並表現優異」成績，以及其他語言科目C級成績，會被視為相等於新高中科目第3級成績；香港中學文憑考試應用學習科目(最多計算兩科)「達標」成績，以及其他語言科目E級成績，會被視為相等於新高中科目第2級成績。
- (2)有關科目可包括中國語文及英國語文科。
- (3)政府在聘任公務員時，2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙) C級及E級成績，在行政上會分別被視為等同2007年或之後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第3級和第2級成績。
