Duties of the English Language Writer will include writing speeches and reports, and editing news and publicity related materials.

Applicants should -

• (1)(a) have a Hong Kong bachelor’s degree, or equivalent; plus at least 10 years’ work experience in English writing, in particular speech writing; OR
• (b)have an accredited associate degree/higher diploma in English language studies or journalism from a Hong Kong tertiary institution, or equivalent; plus at least 10 years’ work experience in English writing, in particular speech writing; OR
• (c)have a diploma in English language studies or journalism from a registered post-secondary college issued after the date of its registration, or equivalent; plus at least 10 years’ work experience in English writing, in particular speech writing; OR
• (d)have Level 3 or equivalent

• (e)have at least 15 years’ work experience in English writing, in particular speech writing;
• (2)have good communication skills;
• (3)have a very good understanding of current affairs;
• (4)be prepared to work outside normal office hours and meet tight deadlines; and
• (5)be computer-literate, with good English word processing skills.

English Language Writer Written Examination Eligible applicants are required to sit a written examination conducted by Information Services Department. Only those who have passed the examination will be further considered for the selection interview.
