A Research Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning development and administration of digital library programmes and related programme activities in cooperation with external organizations. Duties include:

• (a)to attend to content development and copyright clearance;
• (b)to coordinate service procurement and quality control;
• (c)to solicit views from experts of related disciplines and coordinate on research works on Hong Kong studies and other fields;
• (d)to formulate and implement workflows for migrating and updating the content management system and websites;
• (e)research on new technology, relevant standards and best practices;
• (f)to organize education and promotion activities; and
• (g)to perform other duties as assigned by senior officers.

Working Hours: Appointees may be required to work irregular hours, overtime and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Candidates should have

• (a)a bachelor degree from a university in Hong Kong; or equivalent, preferably in Humanities or Social Sciences, and at least 12 years' full-time post qualification working experience of which at least 5 years must be in a management or project coordination position;
• (b)attained Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Note];
• (c)good problem solving, result-oriented and multi-tasking skills;
• (d)good presentation and communication skills in English and Chinese;
• (e)good writing skills in English and Chinese;
• (f)knowledge of library or web-based information services;
• (g)good knowledge of Hong Kong history and culture; and
• (h)proficiency in computer applications (including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Word processing and Chinese input).
