A Temporary Field Assistant (Part-time) is mainly deployed on (a) assisting in both the day and night time monitoring and site investigations of wild animal related complaints; (b) compiling the data/information obtained from the site investigations; (c) assisting in the rescue or capture of wild animals; (d) attending urgent rescue or capture of wild animals after office hours (i.e. 18:00 - 08:00); (e) assisting in the implementation of enforcement actions; (f) driving vehicle; and (g) performing any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

The applicant should (a)(i) have Level 2 or equivalent (Note 1) or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; or (ii) have Level 2 (Note 3) / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; (b) be able to read and write Chinese and speak fluent Cantonese; and (c)(i) have at least two years’ working experience in animal or environmental-related industry; or (ii) have at least twenty years’ working experience in a disciplined service of the Government. Candidates with valid Hong Kong driving licence (Classes 1 and 2) and two years driving experience will be given preference.
