An Assistant Information Technology Manager is mainly deployed on the following types of work - (a) assist in providing professional advice in IT systems and services; (b) liaising with users to design, to promote, and to propose IT solutions or services to clients on software, hardware, infrastructure, and / or data centre services to internal users; (c) preparing project / system budget and operating cost estimation and performs budget / cost control; (d) assisting in collecting user requirements and assisting users in preparation of assignment brief; (e) creating and managing project work plans, carrying out project management, and coordinating related activities in IT projects including the day-to-day operation and the delivery of IT projects; (f) assist in performing feasibility study, user requirement definition, system analysis and design, system implementation, documentation, quality control, testing, and maintenance for IT systems and services; (g) providing system administration, technical support and maintenance service in operating systems, data communication, database, web applications, mobile apps, programming languages and application software packages; (h) assisting in resolving technical issues, security vulnerabilities and transfers such skills to team members; (i) maintaining an information protection program to assist all staff in the protection of all information system and assets; (j) adopting the security governance process to monitor and response to IT security related activities; (k) participating in the evaluation of new hardware and software technologies; (l) assisting in the procurement of IT products and services; (m) supervising contractor for the delivery of IT systems and services; (l) providing training to users of IT systems; (n) maintaining the IT Security of IT systems and network; and (o) leading or acting as member of a project team to supervise junior staff to carry out the above mentioned duties.

Successful candidates may be required - (a) to work irregular hours / in remote areas / in harsh conditions; (b) to perform shift / stand-by / on-call / emergency duties; and (c) to wear uniform / protective clothing.

Candidates should have –
(a) a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Computer & Information Technology, or related IT disciplines, from a Hong Kong University, or equivalent;
(b) Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Note (1)];
(c) at least 5 years' relevant experience in the Information Technology field [See Note (2) – (3)]; and
(d) good leadership, planning, organization, communication, problem solving interpersonal skills.
