職責
進出口科職位(A):有關人員主要負責(a)協助執行包括財務和人力資源的運作、管理和管制工作;(b)協助監督邊境管制分組和機場分組的日常運作,為破獲的非法進口活生動物個案的動物福利情況提供專家證供和意見;(c)就進口活生動物和動物產品提供專業意見,以保障公共衞生;(d)協助就出口動物或動物產品簽發官方健康證明書並加簽所需文件;(e)在有需要時協助科別主管處理關於非法進口和動物檢疫的投訴和通訊;(f)就收集家禽樣本以進行禽流感檢測定期提供專業意見;(g)監督以下條例及附屬法例的日常實施和執行情況:《公眾衞生(動物及禽鳥)條例》(第139章)、《防止殘酷對待動物條例》(第169章)和《狂犬病條例》(第421章);(h)監督收集和編製與履行法定職能有關的統計數據;(i)為有關科別執行一般行政/管理工作;以及(j)執行上司指派的任何其他職務。
動物護理科職位(B):有關人員主要負責(a)為管理野生動物提供獸醫支援,包括但不限於注射鎮靜劑、進行身體檢查、作出獸醫診斷,以及治療野豬、猴子或其他品種的野生動物;(b)為拯救受困或受傷的野生動物提供緊急獸醫支援;(c)就訂立野生動物管理政策提供動物福利方面的專業意見;(d)就病理學相關事宜與相關持份者溝通;以及(e)執行上司指派的其他職務。
(註:可能須不定時和輪班工作;被調派往其他部門如食物環境衞生署和康樂及文化事務署;在香港特別行政區境外工作;在新界工作及/或居住;以及駕駛部門車輛。)

Post (A) of Import and Export Division: The officer is mainly deployed (a) to assist in operation, management and control which includes financial and human resources; (b) to assist in supervising the daily operation in Boundary Control Unit and Airport Unit and providing professional statement and opinions on welfare condition to illegal live animal importation cases detected; (c) to provide professional advice on the import of live animals and animal products in order to safeguard public health; (d) to assist in issuing official health certificate and endorsing the required documents for animal or animal product’s export; (e) to assist Division Head in handling complaints and correspondence related to illegal imports and animals under quarantine as necessary; (f) to provide routine professional input for avian samples collection for testing Avian Influenza; (g) to supervise the daily implementation and enforcement of the following ordinances and sub-legislation: Public Health (Animals and Birds) Ordinance, Cap. 139, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance, Cap. 169 and Rabies Ordinance, Cap. 421; (h) to supervise the collection and compilation of statistics relating to the relevant statutory functions; (i) to perform general administrative/management duties for the Division; and (j) to perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Post (B) of Fauna Conservation Division: The officer is mainly deployed (a) to provide veterinary support for the management of wild animals including but not limited to sedation, performing physical examination, making veterinary diagnosis and providing treatments to wild pigs, monkeys or other wild animal species; (b) to provide urgent veterinary support for the rescue of trapped or injured wild animals; (c) to provide professional advice in relation to animal welfare issue when establishing wildlife management policy; (d) to communicate with relevant stakeholders on pathology related matters; and (e) to perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
(Note: May be required to work irregular hours and shifts; be posted to other departments such as Food and Environmental Hygiene Department and Leisure and Cultural Services Department; work in areas outside Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; work and/or live in the New Territories; and drive a departmental vehicle.)

入職條件
申請人必須(a)為註冊獸醫,並持有根據《獸醫註冊條例》(第529章)*發出的有效執業證明書;(b)符合語文能力要求,即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科考獲第2級或以上成績,或具同等成績;(c)具備至少有一年執業經驗,有大型動物診斷經驗者優先考慮。

The applicant should (a) be registered as a veterinary surgeon and holding a valid practising certificate issued under the Veterinary Surgeons Registration Ordinance, Cap. 529*; (b) have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; (c) have at least one year of experience in practice and preferably with large animal experience.
