(a) Carry out site investigation, field measurement and site supervision of works projects; (b) Prepare drawings of works projects; (c) Keep site progress reports and report site affairs to supervisors; (d) Liaise with local people and/or staff in the Lands Department in carrying out works project; and (e) Perform any other duties relevant to Home Affairs Department works projects as may be assigned by the supervisors. (Note: May be required to work shifts and outside normal office hours; and work in remote areas.)

Candidates should have – (a)(i) a Certificate in Civil Engineering Studies from a Hong Kong polytechnic / polytechnic university or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical institute / college, or equivalent; or (ii) completed a recognized Technician Apprenticeship in civil engineering, or equivalent; or (iii) at least 5 years’ experience as a skilled worker in civil engineering; AND (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (for the purpose of appointment of non-civil service contract staff, ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth).
