(a) To conduct annual maintenance survey, condition survey and prepare inspection reports of declared monuments and graded historic buildings and related restoration and maintenance projects under the management of the Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO) and take follow up action on their restoration, maintenance and repair; (b) To assist in managing the maintenance, repair and restoration works contracts on declared monuments and graded historic buildings assigned and initiated by the AMO, including works tender preparation, progress monitoring, contract administration, quality control and on-site supervision and inspections; (c) To assist in assessing applications for works permit under Section 6 of the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance (the Ordinance) for all declared monuments and the monitoring of the works to their completion in compliance with the Ordinance; (d) To assist in monitoring the progress of the works related consultancy studies engaged for conservation management plan, structural investigation, drainage works, cartographic and photographic surveys of historic buildings; (e) To assist in providing technical support and monitoring the building conservation works under the Financial Assistance for Maintenance Scheme launched by the Commissioner for Heritage’s Office (CHO); (f) To assist in vetting study reports for the government capital works projects required for the heritage impact assessment and for other development projects required for the environmental impact assessment; and (g) To assist in providing technical advice and monitor the implementation of conservation requirements for development and work projects and adaptive reuse projects for historic buildings.

Applicants should (a) have a Hong Kong degree in Architecture or Building Surveying, or equivalent; (b) have completed postgraduate course(s) in Built Heritage Conservation or Architectural Conservation, or equivalent; (c) have Level 2 [See Note] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; (d) speak fluent Cantonese and English; (e) have at least 2 years’ full-time working experience in the fields of Architecture or Building Surveying; and (f) have knowledge in built heritage conservation.
