職責
兼職船舶交通服務操作員的主要職責是：
(i) 執行船隻航行監察員職責，密切監察所有船隻航行監察感應器，以確保在香港船隻航行監察範圍內的所有參與船隻航行監察服務船隻，完全符合國際及本地交通規例；
(ii) 按照正常程序和指引，適時向所有參與船隻航行監察服務船隻提供清晰並相關的交通資訊和建議；
(iii) 監察船隻航行時，將船隻交通動向記錄正確輸入信息子系統；
(iv) 協助進行錨地分配、其他港口管理相關工作，並在值班督導主任接獲緊急情況通知而須作出處理時提供協助和有條理地保存日誌記項；
(v) 協助編製港口管理及船隻航行監察服務相關工作所需的清單和指引；
以及
(vi) 執行上司指派的其他職務。

A Part-time Vessel Traffic Services Operator is responsible for –
(i) performing the duties of vessel traffic regulator by closely monitoring all the Vessel Traffic Services sensors ensuring that all Vessel Traffic Services-participating vessels within Hong Kong-Vessel Traffic Services coverage areas comply fully with the international and local traffic regulations;
(ii) giving clear and relevant traffic information and advice to all Vessel Traffic Services -participating vessels as and where appropriate in accordance with the normal procedures and guidelines;
(iii) inputting traffic movement records correctly into the Informatics sub-system while regulating traffic;
(iv) assisting in anchorage assignment, other port management related work and assisting watch supervisor to handle notified emergency and maintain log entry in an orderly manner;
(v) assisting in the compilation of necessary checklists and guidelines for port management and Vessel Traffic Services related work; and
(vi) performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisors.

入職條件
申請人必須：
(a) (i) 持有海事處處長簽發的二級（甲板高級船員）（遠洋航行）適任證書或同等資歷；或
(ii) 持有海事處處長簽發的二級（甲板高級船員）（遠洋航行）香港執照；或
(iii) 持有海事處處長簽發的二級或以上（甲板高級船員）（內河航行）適任證書，並在取得有關資格後累積四年相關工作經驗；
(b) 修畢符合國際航標協會（IALA）建議V-103並獲香港特別行政區政府海事處批准的認可船隻航行監察基本訓練課程；
(c) 操流利粵語，中文讀寫能力俱佳；以及
(d) 操流利英語，英文讀寫能力俱佳。

Candidates should -
(a) (i) have a Certificate of Competency (Deck Officer) (Seagoing) Class 2 issued by the Director of Marine, or equivalent; or
(ii) a Hong Kong Licence (Deck Officer) (Seagoing) Class 2 issued by the Director of Marine; or
(iii) a Certificate of Competency (Deck Officer) (River Trade) Class 2 or above issued by the Director of Marine with four years of relevant post-qualification experience;
(b) have completed an accredited course of basic training in Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) in accordance with International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) Recommendations V-103, as approved by the Marine Department, the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
(c) be able to speak fluent Cantonese, read and write good Chinese; and
(d) be able to speak fluent English, read and write good English.
