The main duties include:

• (a)To oversee and manage the contractors for conducting studies to improve the accuracy of the vehicle emission model;
• (b)To advise external parties on how to assess the impact of vehicle emissions;
• (c)To compile vehicle emission inventories and conduct vehicle emission estimates;
• (d)To conduct training on the vehicle emission model to external parties; and
• (e)To supervise the Mobile Source Inspectors to conduct vehicle emission estimates.

This position is open to both male and female. Applicants should have

• (a)A Hong Kong degree, or equivalent, in a relevant physical science, environmental or engineering subject;
• (b)Level 2 or above in the Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent

(Note: For non-civil service appointment purpose, “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth); and (c) Minimum five years full time relevant post-qualifications working experience at an appropriate level of responsibility relevant to air pollution with at least two years experience in vehicle emission modelling.
