An Animal Management Inspector is mainly deployed on assisting in managing, leading and supervising the respective Animal Management Centre, cattle control teams and/or catching teams; planning, organizing, supervising and controlling the day-to-day operation of the animal management activities; stray cattle handling and management; maintaining high standards of animal care in the Animal Management Centre, ensuring proper maintenance of Animal Management Centre; implementing, enforcing and maintaining compliance with related ordinances; controlling and supervising the cattle team office by carrying out regular visits; maintaining records, computer data base and compiling statistics; controlling the proper and sensible use of sub-imprests and of expenditure and the requisition of stores; planning, developing and implementing studies; managing and appraising the performance of his subordinates; and performing any other such duties as directed by supervisors.

(a) a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Science, Biology, Applied Biology, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Ecology, Environmental Science or Environmental Management from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; (b) Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. (Note : For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE.)
