The successful candidate will be required to provide professional support to the development and implementation of programmes and projects relating to combating climate change. The duties might include:

• (a)Assisting in the preparation of guidelines, procedures and standards relating to combating climate change;
• (b)Assisting in coordination of inter-departmental and community-engagement programmes and activities in combating climate change;
• (c)Planning and implementing studies and investigations in relation to combating climate change, including researching on international and regional practices and developments on combating climate change;
• (d)Assisting through various means, such as the preparation and presentation of educational and publicity materials, in conveying climate change policies and strategies to the public, and to prominent community representatives; and
• (e)Supporting the development and management of a carbon footprint repository.

• (a)A Hong Kong First or Second Class honours degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent;
• (b)Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent

(Note: ‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth); (c) Minimum three years relevant post-qualifications working experience at an appropriate level of responsibility relevant to environmental management; and (d) Knowledge of and experience in combating climate change is an advantage.
