合約驗船主任的主要職責是：
- (a)協助執行調查意外事故的職務；
- (b)就建造新船和政府船隊維修事宜，執行政府輪機工程顧問或經理的職 務；以及
- (c)就建造新船和政府船隊維修事宜，執行政府造船工程師的職務。
職責
A Contract Surveyor of Ships is mainly deployed on :
- (a)assisting in undertaking duties of casualty investigations;
- (b)undertaking duties as a marine engineer consultant or manager for the Government on the construction of new vessels and maintenance of the Government Fleet; and
- (c)undertaking duties as a naval architect for the Government on the construction of new vessels and maintenance of the Government Fleet.
入職條件
申請人必須具備以下其中一組的資歷： 第一組：
- (a)
- (i)取得海事處處長所接納而與驗船主任工作相關的機械或科技學位，或海事處處長所接納的經考試獲得的工程師學會正式會員資格，並持有海事處處長所簽發或接納的一級（輪機師）合格證書；或
- (ii)持有海事處處長所接納的特等一級輪機師合格證書；或
- (iii)取得海事處處長所接納的機械／輪機工程學位或同等學歷、海事處處長所接納的工程師學會正式會員資格；並持有海事處處長所簽發或接納的二級(輪機師)合格證書；以及
- (b)具備最少十年相關工作經驗；以及
- (c)英文或中文語文能力良好。 或 第二組：
- (a)取得海事處處長所接納的造船學或相關科技學位；
- (b)取得海事處處長所接納的造船工程師學會正式會員資格；
- (c)在取得正式會員資格後累積最少十年相關工作經驗；以及
- (d)英文或中文語文能力良好。
Candidates should have met either one set of the following requirements: Set 1:
- (a)
- (i)a degree in engineering or technology relevant to the work of the surveyor of ships; or a corporate membership of an engineer institution by examination acceptable to the Director of Marine; and a Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1 issued by or acceptable to the Director of Marine; or
- (ii)a Certificate of Competency as Extra First Class Marine Engineer Officer acceptable to the Director of Marine; or
- (iii)a degree in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or equivalent; a corporate membership of an engineer institution acceptable to the Director of Marine; and a Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 2 issued by or acceptable to the Director of Marine; and
- (b)a minimum of 10 years’ relevant working experience; and
- (c)a good command of English or Chinese. Or Set 2:
- (a)a degree in naval architecture or related technology acceptable to the Director of Marine;
- (b)a corporate membership of a naval architect institution acceptable to the Director of Marine;
(c )a minimum of 10 years’ relevant working experience after obtaining corporate membership; and
- (d)a good command of English or Chinese.
