(1) Primary duties of the English Publications Editor will include English editorial services for the Hong Kong Yearbook consisting of editing, writing, proofreading, photo selection, monitoring and co-ordination of its printed, online and e-book versions; and (2) Any other English editorial and writing services as required including, but not limited to, press releases, speeches, promotional material or online content.

Applicants should – (1)(a) have a Hong Kong bachelor’s degree, or equivalent; plus at least eight years of relevant work experience in English editing and writing, in particular editing and writing English publications; OR (b) have an accredited associate degree/higher diploma from a Hong Kong tertiary institution, or equivalent; plus at least eight years of relevant work experience in English editing and writing, in particular editing and writing English publications; OR (c) have a diploma from a registered post-secondary college issued after the date of its registration, or equivalent; plus at least eight years of relevant work experience in English editing and writing, in particular editing and writing English publications; OR (d) have Level 3 or equivalent [Note 1] or above in five subjects, including English Language, in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) [Note 2], or equivalent; or Grade E or above in two subjects at Advanced Level in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) and Level 3 [Note 3] /Grade C or above in three other subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) [Note 2], with English Language (Syllabus B for HKCEE before 2007) being one of the five subjects, or equivalent; plus at least 11 years of relevant work experience in English editing and writing, in particular editing and writing English publications; OR (e) have Level 3 or above in English Language, and Level 2 or equivalent [Note 1] or above in four other subjects in the HKDSEE [Note 2], or equivalent; or Level 3 [Note 3] /Grade C or above in English Language (Syllabus B for HKCEE before 2007), and Level 2/Grade E or above in four other subjects in the HKCEE [Note 2], or equivalent; plus at least 13 years of relevant work experience in English editing and writing, in particular editing and writing English publications; OR (f) have at least 15 years’ relevant work experience in English editing and writing, in particular editing and writing English publications; (2) have good communication skills; (3) have a very good understanding of current affairs; (4) be prepared to work outside normal office hours and meet tight deadlines; and (5) be computer-literate, with good word processing skills. Selection Suitable applicants will be invited to attend an interview. They may also be required to take a written test.
