Duties of the English Editor will include planning, producing/writing, editing and co-ordination of the publication of the web and social media content; coaching colleagues in writing and doing voice-overs; and assisting the Chief Information Officer in managing the operation of the English editorial team.

Applicants should –

• (1)(a) have a Hong Kong bachelor’s degree, or equivalent; plus at least 10 years of relevant work experience in journalism, preferably with experience in news reporting/broadcasting and web publishing/social media; OR
• (b)have an accredited associate degree/higher diploma in arts or journalism from a Hong Kong tertiary institution, or equivalent; plus at least 10 years of relevant work experience in journalism, preferably with experience in news reporting/broadcasting and web publishing/social media; OR
• (c)have a diploma in arts or journalism from a registered post-secondary college issued after the date of its registration, or equivalent; plus at least 10 years of relevant work experience in journalism, preferably with experience in news reporting/broadcasting and web publishing/social media; OR
• (d)have Level 3 or equivalent

• (e)have at least 15 years of relevant work experience in journalism, preferably with experience in news reporting/broadcasting and web publishing/social media;
• (2)be proficient in English speaking and news writing, and have good editing and communication skills;
• (3)be familiar with news video production, including reporting, script editing and voice-over work;
• (4)have a good understanding of current affairs;
• (5)be prepared to work outside normal office hours and meet tight deadlines;
• (6)be prepared to train colleagues in writing and doing voice-overs; and
• (7)be computer-literate, with good word processing skills.

Selection Eligible applicants are required to sit a written examination conducted by Information Services Department. Only those who have passed the examination will be further considered for the selection interview.
