Successful candidate(s) will be assigned to the Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) of the Civil Engineering and Development Department to:-

(a) provide technical and project management support for revision of the Geotechnical Manual for Slopes (Manual);
(b) commission and direct the technical studies in relation to the revision of the Manual;
(c) monitor and take forward the progress of the revision work;
(d) prepare drafting for the publication of the Manual;
(e) undertake internal and external consultations and liaise with other departments and stakeholders;
(f) conduct trial implementation of the draft design guidelines;
(g) advise and make recommendations to the senior management of the GEO on matters related to the revision of the Manual; and
(h) undertake other duties assigned by senior officers.

Candidates should -
(a) (i) possess Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (Civil or Geotechnical Discipline) elected after 5 December 1975, or equivalent [see Note (1)]; or
(ii) possess a recognized professional qualification in engineering geology or geology, or equivalent, such as Chartered Geologist status of the Geological Society of London, UK;
(b) have at least ten years’ post-qualification experience including at least four years’ experience working in senior project management position(s) for government projects in slope engineering [see Note (2)]; and
(c) have a good command of spoken and written Chinese and English.
