The main duties include: (a) assist in the implementation of the programme on source separation of waste; (b) assist in the development and operation of the community recycling network; (c) plan and conduct promotional programmes on waste reduction and recycling; (d) collect and analyze data related to the waste recycling programmes and manage the relevant database; and (e) perform any other waste recycling, waste management and environmental protection related duties. (Note : The hours and venues of work may be varied having regarded to the operational needs of the department. The successful candidate may be required to (a) work irregular hours and overtime, including evenings and weekends; and (b) work with computers and occasionally outdoors.)

Candidate should have - (a) a Hong Kong degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent; (b) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 3 (Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; (c) minimum one year full time work experience in environmental protection / waste recycling / waste management; and (d) good English and Chinese writing skills, fluency in spoken English and Cantonese; proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
