To be deployed in the Works Branch of the Development Bureau to provide construction law related legal advice on contractual documents, claims and disputes, etc., to conduct relevant dispute resolution proceedings where necessary and to provide general legal advice on areas falling within the purview of the Works Branch of the Development Bureau.

Candidates should - (a) (i) be solicitors with at least 6 years’ professional experience in construction law and/or civil litigation practice since admission in Hong Kong or any one of the recognised jurisdictions as stipulated under Section 2A and Schedule 2 of the Legal Officers Ordinance; or (ii) be barristers with at least 7 years’ professional experience in construction law and/or civil litigation practice since attaining the right to full practice in Hong Kong or any one of the recognised jurisdictions as stipulated under Section 2A and Schedule 2 of the Legal Officers Ordinance; and (b) have met the language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 2’ or above in English Language and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. (Note: For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in English Language and Chinese Language respectively in the 2007 HKCEE or henceforth.) Candidates with less working experience (a minimum of 4 years’ professional experience for solicitors or 5 years’ professional experience for barristers) may also apply.
