The post holder will be responsible for (a) undertaking public policy research and analysis, including drafting of study briefs, collection and analysis of data and information, policy evaluation and report write-up; (b) leading and supervising policy research projects; (c) assisting in cross-bureau policy co-ordination and project facilitation; (d) maintaining liaison with the policy research community, including the academia and think tanks; (e) planning and conducting public engagement exercises, including focus groups, seminars and public meetings; and (f) providing secretariat support to relevant committees and panels, or research funding schemes.

Applicants should have (a) a first or second class honours bachelor’s degree, preferably in social sciences, law, economics or other related disciplines, from a Hong Kong university or equivalent; (b) at least 5 years’ relevant post-degree working experience in policy research, policy analysis, industry analysis, public affairs or project management; (c) good understanding of Hong Kong’s public administration and public policies; (d) ability to plan and conduct research and public engagement activities independently; (e) good oral and written communication skills; (f) good leadership and are team players; and (g) good knowledge in computer applications. Possession of a postgraduate research degree from a Hong Kong university or equivalent, or actual experience in leading and supervising public policy research, or both, will be an advantage.
