InvestHK is looking for a passionate, high-calibre, result-oriented professional as Head, Financial Services and Fintech. In this newly created role, you will need to deploy your first-rate strategic, execution and leadership skills to make an impact in the development of the financial services and fintech sectors in Hong Kong. The Role

Reporting to an Associate Director-General, you will be responsible for implementing Hong Kong’s financial services and fintech strategy in conjunction with other government bureaux and departments, regulators, and financial services industry stakeholders. You and your team will collaborate with and leverage other sector teams at InvestHK Headquarters, as well as our global network in 33 cities around the world.

You will need to demonstrate:
(a) the ability to develop, refine and implement a global strategy and plan to generate leads, and drive deep client engagement with financial services and fintech sectors in target markets around the world;
(b) proven knowledge and experience in financial services and fintech investment business, customer acquisition, business development and retention;
(c) the ability to leverage your extensive network in relevant sectors in and outside Hong Kong;
(d) a track record of successfully collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies and regulators to drive impact and outcomes;
(e) leadership of high-performing teams, cross-border and multicultural teams;
(f) the ability to work independently under pressure, meeting targets and objectives and responding effectively to ad hoc requests at short notice;
(g) strong communication and public speaking skills; and
(h) the willingness to conduct regular international and Mainland business development and undertake travel.

Duties

(a) To lead the Financial Services and Fintech teams of InvestHK, develop and implement an integrated investment promotion strategy in order to promote Hong Kong as a leading global financial centre and attract financial services and fintech companies from around the world to establish and/or expand business operations in Hong Kong;
(b) To collaborate with InvestHK’s global teams, international and local industry partners, government bodies and key stakeholders on driving a series of impactful events in key financial hubs worldwide in order to tell the Hong Kong story effectively and generate a strong pipeline of financial services and fintech companies;
(c) To speak in business events locally and globally and promote the unique advantages and opportunities of Hong Kong’s financial services and fintech sectors;
(d) To ensure the team provides quality and customised support services for prospective and aftercare companies in the financial services and fintech sectors;
(e) To organise the annual Hong Kong Fintech Week and develop an attractive, unique and vibrant ecosystem in the city;
(f) To manage the performance of the team for target achievement, ensure quality financial and operational management as well as timely inputs to policy bureaux; and
(g) To support the directorate of InvestHK on duties and assignments as and when needed.

(a) Minimum twelve years of relevant full-time work experience in financial services and fintech sectors;
(b) A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, more advanced degree(s) would be an advantage; and
(c) A strong command of written and spoken English and written Chinese and spoken Putonghua.
