To assist the professional staff and provide support to the Architectural Design Officers in -
(a)drafting architectural schematic layouts and design schemes, master plan, urban design plan, and 3D drawings / models and illustrations for district and strategic planning purposes;
(b)providing inputs and verify the accuracy of architectural drawings and schematic diagrams, photomontages for urban design / visual impact assessment/ air ventilation assessment of major planning proposals, and rendering graphical support to the revamped Urban Design Guidelines as appropriate;
(c)preparing graphic design materials, illustrations, and 3D graphics and animations for presentation to high-level statutory and non-statutory committees/boards and in public consultation exercises;
(d)providing training on various skills and techniques especially related to high-quality and photo-realistic graphic presentation to staff of the department; and
(e)providing support in conducting research in relation to urban design, architectural design, as well as application of new 3D and multimedia technologies for conducting the above and other relevant tasks.
(May be required to work in remote areas and work outside normal working hours and/or in irregular hours.)

Candidates should have -
(a)(i)obtained a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Architecture, Architectural Studies, Architectural Design or Graphic Design from a Hong Kong university or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent; and
(ii)at least three years’ post-qualification working experience in an architectural or property development office setting. Candidates with relevant experience of similar nature will also be considered;
(b)met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Note (1) below];
(c)good knowledge and practical experience in the use of computer software such as Microstation, AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max / 3D Studio VIZ, Corel Draw, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft PowerPoint, etc. Knowledge in geographical information system and other 3D graphic software will be an advantage;
(d)stylistic free-hand architectural rendering and good computer-aided photo-realistic architectural rendering skills with Microstation, AutoCAD and 3D Studio Max / 3D Studio VIZ software are preferred; and
(e)good team work under tight schedule and pressure as well as communicate effectively with professionals of the department.
