總薪級表第8點(每月港幣23,585元)至總薪級表第21點(每月港幣47,010元)
職責
二級實驗室技術員的主要職責為－
(a) 協助文物修復工作室／科學實驗室的運作，包括購置、操作和維修保養設備及器具，以及購買和處理化學品／物料；
(b) 協助舉辦博物館／電影資料館展覽和文物修復／科學推廣活動；以及
(c) 協助監察博物館／電影資料館展覽廳和藏品庫、歷史建築及古蹟的環境狀況。
(註：獲取錄的申請人，須注意下列各點－
(i) 或須輪班當值和不定時工作；以及
(ii) 本職系人員須接受部門首長作出的調派和調職安排，以及派往偏遠地區工作的安排。)

A Laboratory Technician II is mainly deployed on -
(a) assisting in running conservation / science laboratories including the acquisition, operation and maintenance of equipment and apparatus, and the purchase and handling of chemicals/materials;
(b) assisting in the mounting of museum / film archive exhibitions and conservation/ science extension activities; and
(c) assisting in the monitoring of environmental conditions for museum / film archive galleries and storages, historical buildings, and monumental sites.
(Notes: Members of the grade –
(i) may be required to perform shift duties and work irregular hours; and
(ii) are subject to posting and transfer and work in remote areas at the discretion of the Head of Department.)

入職條件
申請人須－
(a) (i) 在香港中學文憑考試考獲五科第2級或以上成績，其中包括：
(1) 化學；以及
(2) 以下其中一科：數學、物理、生物、組合科學（物理及生物）、設計與應用科技或資訊及通訊科技，或具同等成績；或
(ii) 在香港中學會考考獲五科第2級／E級或以上成績，其中包括：
(1) 化學；以及
(2) 以下其中一科：數學、附加數學、物理、生物、電腦與資訊科技或設計與科技，或具同等成績；
(b) 持有香港理工學院、香港專業教育學院或工業學院頒發的實驗室技術員證書，或具同等學歷；
(c) 持有聖約翰救傷會頒發的有效急救證書，或具同等資格，但此項要求不適用於在一九八五年或以後持有香港理工學院、香港專業教育學院、香港科技學院（柴灣）或沙田工業學院頒發的實驗室技術員證書的申請人；
(d) 具備三年與文物修復或科學有關的技術及實驗室工作經驗；
(e) 符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考的中國語文科及英國語文科考獲第2級或以上成績，或具同等成績；以及
(f) 在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績。

Candidates should have-
(a) (i) Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) including –
(1) Chemistry; and
(2) one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Combined Science (Physics & Biology), Design & Applied Technology or Information & Communication Technology, or equivalent; or
(ii) Level 2 / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) including –
(1) Chemistry; and
(2) one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Computer and Information Technology or Design and Technology, or equivalent;
(b) a Certificate for Laboratory Technicians from the Hong Kong Polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) or a technical institute, or equivalent;
(c) a valid First Aid Certificate of the St. John Ambulance Association, or equivalent, except for those candidates who possess the Certificate for Laboratory Technicians from the Hong Kong Polytechnic or IVE or Hong Kong Technical College (Chai Wan) or Sha Tin Technical Institute in or after 1985;
(d) 3 years’ relevant experience in conservation or science related technical and laboratory work;
(e) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent; and
(f) a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test.
