To undertake research and application of RS, Photogrammetry and GIS technologies to facilitate and enhance planning work; to manage and implement related projects, including supervising and managing contractors and to organize and conduct training courses.

Candidates should have

• (a)a master’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, in the subject of Geo-informatics, Remote Sensing (RS), Photogrammetry, Spatial Science or Earth Science;
• (b)Level 2 or above in English Language together with four other subjects at Grade E/Level 2 or above in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Note (2)];
• (c)at least two years’ relevant working experience in undertaking research on and/or implementation of RS / Photogrammetry / Geographic Information System (GIS) projects. Candidates with relevant experience of similar nature will also be considered;
• (d)good knowledge and familiar with the use of computer software, such as PCI Geomatica, ER Mapper and Erdas for RS software, Summit Evolution, Intergraph ImageStation and Leica Photogrammetry Suite for Photogrammetry software, and ESRI ArcGIS family products or other spatial analysis packages for GIS software. Skills, knowledge and research/project experiences in various types of remote sensing data such as LiDAR, thermal and hyperspectral etc. will be an advantage; and
• (e)good command of written and spoken English; good inter-personal skills; self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team; good research attitude and strong knowledge of research methods.
