A Contract Field Officer is mainly deployed on (a) carrying out inspecting duties for birds, animals, plant pests and endangered species and their derivatives / products at various Control Points; (b) Enforcing regulations on plants, pesticides and animal controls; (c) assisting in updating database systems; (d) and any other duties assigned by senior officers. (Note: The applicant needs to work on shift and wear uniform when performing enforcement duties. Candidates with a driving licence will be accorded priority.)

The applicant should have (a) (i) a diploma or higher certificate in natural or applied science or a related subject from a Hong Kong polytechnic/polytechnic university or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; or (ii) a recognised diploma from an agricultural or forestry school/college, or equivalent, and one year’s practical experience in farming or countryside/flora/wildlife management; and (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. (Note: For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.)
