兼職結構工程師主要負責根據《旅館業條例》(第349章)、《會社(房產安全)條例》(第376章)、《床位寓所條例》(第447章)和《卡拉OK場所條例》(第573章)(a)制定發牌要求及條件，及就發牌及改動工程的申請提供結構工程方面的意見，(b)審查結構評估報告、對結構工程評估報告給予意見及審批由認可人士/註冊結構工程師提交的補救工程建議書，(c)就檢討發牌及實施程序的事宜提供結構工程方面的專業意見等，以及(d)巡視處所及樓宇並建議所需的跟進工作。
職責
The main duties of part-time Structural Engineer under the Hotel and Guesthouse Accommodation Ordinance (Cap.349), Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance (Cap.376), Bedspace Apartments Ordinance (Cap.447) and Karaoke Establishments Ordinance (Cap.573) are
- (a)to formulate licensing requirements and conditions, and give structural comments on the suitability of premises for licensing and alteration proposals,
- (b)to check structural justifications, comment on structural appraisal reports and vet remedial proposals submitted by authorized persons/registered structural engineers (AP/RSE),
- (c)to provide structural expertise in the review of licensing/operational procedures, etc., and
- (d)to inspect premises and buildings and advise on follow-up actions where necessary.
入職條件
申請人須
- (a)
- (i)於1975年12月5日之後獲選為香港工程師學會的正式會員(結構或土木界別)
註(1)] ；或
- (ii)具備香港工程師學會認為同等的認可資格；及
(b)符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科考獲第2級或以上成績，或具同等成績

Candidates should have
- (a)
- (i)Corporate Members of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (Structural or Civil Discipline), elected after 5 December 1975

- (ii)have qualification being recognized by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, or equivalent; and
- (b)meet the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent

- (1)香港中學文憑考試應用學習科目(最多計算兩科)「達標並表現優異」成績，以及其他語言科目C級成績，會被視為相等於新高中科目第3級成績；香港中學文憑考試應用學習科目(最多計算兩科)「達標」成績，以及其他語言科目E級成績，會被視為相等於新高中科目第2級成績。
- (2)有關科目可包括中國語文及英國語文科。
- (3)2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科(課程乙) C級及E級成績，在行政上會分別被視為等同2007年或之後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第3級和第2級成績。
- (4)獲取錄者須執行戶外職務。
