Major duties include: (a) assisting in the preparation of guidelines, procedures and standards relating to combating climate change; (b) planning and implementing studies and investigations in relation to combating climate change, including researching on international and regional practices and developments on combating climate change; (c) conducting briefing sessions and offering technical advice on carbon audit and climate change; (d) running training workshops relating to carbon audit and climate change; (e) supporting the development, implementation and management of a carbon footprint repository; and (f) undertaking other duties, such as providing assistance in organising the Eco Expo Asia, offering views on the planning of the Bay Area as well as the Belt and Road Initiative, etc. (Note: The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the department. The successful candidate may be required to (a) work irregular hours and overtime, including evenings and weekends; and (b) work occasionally outdoors.)

Candidates should have – (a) a Hong Kong degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent; (b) minimum four years' relevant full-time post-qualifications working experience at an appropriate level of responsibility relevant to environmental management; (c) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 3 (Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note: “Grade C” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth); (d) knowledge of and experience in combating climate change is an advantage.
