(a) To develop and review the curricula relating to Personal, Social and Humanities Education (PSHE) Key Learning Area (KLA), in particular History; (b) To plan and support the dissemination of the above curricula, including the production of curriculum resource materials; (c) To plan, organise, conduct and evaluate teacher development programmes in support of the implementation of the above curricula; (d) To review textbooks and related resource materials; (e) To participate in research and development projects in relation to the further development of the PSHE curriculum; (f) To conduct curriculum development visits and focus group interviews related to the implementation of PSHE curriculum; (g) To liaise and cooperate with other government departments, tertiary institutions and relevant organisations in matters related to history and humanities education; and (h) To perform any other duties as assigned.

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree, majoring in History, or equivalent; and a certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent [See Note (ii)]; (b) Met the language proficiency requirements of 'Level 2' results in the two language papers [Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE)] in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent [See Notes (iii) and (iv)]; (c) At least 6 years' relevant post-qualification [as specified in (a)] experience in teaching and/or curriculum and resources development [See Note (v)]; (d) Possess sound knowledge in the area of history education in the Personal, Social and Humanities Education (PSHE) Key Learning Area (KLA) and local education system; (e) High level of awareness of current trends in local and international history education and humanities education; and (f) Preference will be given to candidates who possess a higher degree related to history and / or curriculum development and / or educational management, or equivalent.
