職責
主要職責包括:─
(a) 前往荔枝窩、沙羅洞及其他偏遠鄉郊地點進行實地考察,以辨認及記錄本地的植物及動物物種和相關物種的生境;
(b) 就實地考察取得的資料及從其他來源包括印刷期刊、文章等所得的資料,繪製說明圖或生態地圖。說明圖或生態地圖需概括及顯示相關鄉郊地點的主要生境及生態環境;
(c) 製作實地考察的報告;以及
(d) 就本地及海外保育鄉郊建築的經驗及方法進行資料搜集,整理相關資料及向自然保育科鄉郊保育辦公室作出匯報。
其他相關的工作要求: (a) 獲取錄者需要到偏遠鄉郊進行實地考察和戶外工作。 (b) 每星期的工作時數通常是12小時,實際工作時數會按部門運作需要而定,但每星期不會多於17.5小時。 (c) 獲取錄者可能須於星期一至五、星期六、星期日及公眾假期逾時工作。

Main duties include:-
(a) to conduct field surveys at Lai Chi Wo, Sha Lo Tung and other remote countryside locations for the purpose of identifying and recording local species of flora and fauna, as well as their habitats;
(b) to prepare illustrated mappings or eco-maps based on the findings of field surveys and other available information sources from published journals and articles, etc. The mappings should be able to summarise and highlight the key habitats and aspects of ecological environment inspected;
(c) to compile field survey reports; and
(d) to conduct researches on local and overseas experience and practice in architecture in relation to remote countryside conservation, summarise the results of researches and present the findings to Countryside Conservation Office of Nature Conservation Division.
Other Job-related Requirements: (a) Successful candidate will be required to conduct field surveys and perform outdoor duties in remote countryside. (b) The normal number of work hours per week is 12 hours. The actual number of work hours per week may vary having regard to the operational needs of the Department. In any event, the total number of work hours per week will not exceed 17.5 hours. (c) Successful candidate may be required to perform overtime work on weekdays (Monday to Friday), Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Applicants should have/be –
(a) a Hong Kong’s bachelor degree in the subject of landscape architecture or ecology, or equivalent (candidates who are studying a Hong Kong’s bachelor degree majoring in the subjects above may also apply);
(b) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 2 (Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. (Note: “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth);
(c) knowledge on horticulture, habitat and ecology, including the common species of flora and fauna, in the remote countryside of Hong Kong;
(d) knowledge and hands-on experience of computer software (including AutoCad, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Sketchup, etc.) to prepare drawings, presentations and graphic illustrations; and
(e) knowledge and hands-on experience in graphic design is an advantage.
