職責
助理海事監督主要負責協助海事主任／海事監督執行以下職務：
(a) 與港口運作有關的職務，包括船舶交通管理及客運碼頭運作；以及
(b) 舉行本地合格證明書考試及遊樂船隻操作人合格證明書考試。
[註：或須(i)上班時穿著制服；(ii)輪班當值或上班候命工作；以及(iii)在本港或海外受訓。]

An Assistant Marine Controller is mainly deployed on assisting Marine Officers/Marine Controllers in :
(a) port service operations, including vessel traffic management and ferry terminals operations; and
(b) the conduct of examinations for Local Certificates of Competency and Pleasure Vessel Operator Certificates of Competency.
[Remarks : May be required to (i) wear uniform on duty; (ii) work shifts or undertake standby duties; and (iii) attend training courses either locally or overseas.]

入職條件
申請人必須：
(a)(i) 持有海事處處長簽發的二級（甲板高級船員）（遠洋航行）適任證書，或同等資歷；或
(ii) 持有海事處處長簽發的二級（甲板高級船員）（遠洋航行）香港執照；或
(iii) 持有海事處處長簽發的二級或以上（甲板高級船員）（內河航行）適任證書，並在取得資格後累積四年相關工作經驗；[請參閱註(1)]
(b) 能操流利粵語，中文讀寫能力俱佳；以及
(c) 能操流利英語，英文讀寫能力俱佳。

Candidates should have :
(a)(i) a Certificate of Competency (Deck Officer) (Seagoing) Class 2 issued by the Director of Marine, or equivalent; or
(ii) a Hong Kong Licence (Deck Officer) (Seagoing) Class 2 issued by the Director of Marine; or
(iii) a Certificate of Competency (Deck Officer) (River Trade) Class 2 or above issued by the Director of Marine with four years of relevant post-qualification experience, [See Note (1)];
(b) be able to speak fluent Cantonese, read and write good Chinese; and
(c) be able to speak fluent English, read and write good English.

(1) 經驗年數現時未符上文入職條件(a)(iii)項的規定，但現正致力累積所需經驗年數的人士也可申請；申請人如獲錄用，必須於獲聘時在經驗年數方面符合要求才獲聘任。
(2) 為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，政府會測試應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》知識。申請人在基本法測試的表現會佔其整體表現的一個適當比重。
