職責
(a) 制定廢物管理策略和就收集及處理住宅、商業及工業大廈的可回收物制定立法建議；
(b) 制定以市場為主導的生產者責任計劃，例如電動車電池和其他產品；
(c) 與業界持份者合作，制定及實施減少各類產品包裝物料的自願性計劃；
(d) 了解海外司法管轄區的廢物管理政策和方法的最新發展；以及
(e) 就有關環境、綠色科技和創新等資助申請、不同業務的最佳作業方式，以及其他與廢物管理相關的事宜提供意見。
其他相關的工作要求：工作時間及地點或會按部門的運作需要而變更。獲取錄者可能需要(a)不定時及超時工作，包括在晚上、周末、周日和公眾假期工作；以及(b) 偶爾在戶外工作。

(a) To develop waste management strategies and formulate legislative proposal on collection and handling of recyclables in domestic, commercial and industrial buildings;
(b) To formulate the market-led Producer Responsibility Schemes for products such as electric vehicle batteries and others;
(c) To develop and implement voluntary scheme on reducing packaging materials of various products in collaboration with the trade stakeholders;
(d) To keep abreast of the latest development of waste management policies and practices in overseas jurisdictions; and
(e) To advise on matters in relation to the funding applications on environment, green technology and innovation, etc., best practices on different businesses and other relevant subjects on waste management.
Other Job-related Requirements: The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the department. Successful candidate may be required to (a) work irregular hours and overtime, including evenings, weekends, Sundays and public holidays; and (b) work outdoors occasionally.

(a) 持有本港大學頒授的科學或工程，或相關科目的學士學位，或具備同等學歷；
(b) 於1975年12月5日或之後，成為香港工程師學會相關專業界別的法定會員，或具備同等資格；
(c) 在取得上述專業資格後，在減廢、廢物回收／循環再造、廢物處理設施或其他相關範疇具備最少15年全職工作經驗，當中最少有五年監督廢物回收項目及發展和營運廢物再造設施的工作經驗；以及
(d) 具備良好的中、英文會話和寫作能力。

Candidates should have –
(a) a bachelor’s degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent, in subject relevant to science or engineering, or equivalent;
(b) Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in a relevant discipline admitted on or after 5 December 1975, or equivalent;
(c) at least 15 years' full-time post-qualification working experience in waste reduction, recovery/ recycling, waste facilities management or other related domains, among which, with at least five years’ working experience in overseeing waste recovery projects as well as waste recycling facility development and operation; and
(d) good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
