Successful candidate(s) will be assigned to the Sustainable Lantau Office of the Civil Engineering and Development Department and mainly be deployed on the following duties–
(a) To lead and supervise a project team of Architect and/or Engineer on the architectural provisioning projects under him/her;
(b) To act as the Chairperson and/or Secretary of working groups / committees for Implementation of Waterfront Promenade and Open Space;
(c) To oversee the administration and management of consultancy which responsible for large scale promenade and open space development;
(d) To formulate the outline proposals and schedule of accommodation with the client and relevant works departments;
(e) To oversee the duties and performance of Resident Site Staff in respect of quality control under the works contract of promenade and open space development;
(f) To liaise closely with policy bureau, relevant departments and consultants, including the future user departments and maintenance departments, and other stakeholders for resolving interfacing and design’s requirement issues as well as for timely completion of facilities for public use;
(g) To vet the cost estimates, monitor expenditure and works implementation programme of the contract of promenade and open space development;
(h) To attend to publicity and public consultation with the locals, Rural Committees, District Councils, Legislative Council, relevant sports association and the public at large for the promenade and open space development and resolve problematic issues; and
(i) To undertake other duties assigned by the supervisors.

Candidates should –
(a) be Members of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), or equivalent; and be Registered Architects of the Architects Registration Board (ARB) of Hong Kong;
(b) have a minimum of 20 years of work experience in architectural services, including but not limited to planning, design and implementation of government, institutional and community facilities or building development projects, with not less than 10 years in preparation of submissions for the Architectural and Associated Consultants Selection Board (AACSB), the Central Tender Board (CTB) and/or the Public Works Tender Board and preferably possesses experience on planning and design of recreation, open space and greening facilities, such as public open space, recreation open space, recreation space, active open space, passive open space, district open space and waterfront promenade in local urban areas; and
(c) have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. [See Note (1)]
