Assistant Inspectors (Graduate) are mainly deployed on the following types of duties –

• (a)monitoring and provision of special education services;
• (b)assisting in formulation and implementation of other education policies;
• (c)assisting in professional training and development of educational professionals;
• (d)assisting in curriculum development and review ;
• (e)conducting quality assurance inspection; and
• (f)provision of school-based support and school development.

Selected appointees are subject to postings to different Divisions/Sections or other related disciplines.

Candidates should have –

• (1)a Hong Kong bachelor's degree, or equivalent;
• (2)relevant training in special education, or in the education for the deaf, or in speech, language and communication, or equivalent;
• (3)a certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;
• (4)met the 'Level 2' results in the two language papers [Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE)] in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent [See Note
• (a)- (d)]; and
• (5)four years' relevant post-degree experience, including experience in teaching and/or providing support to students with speech and language impairment, or students with hearing impairment, or students with other special educational needs, and/or teaching in special schools, or equivalent.

Candidates should be responsible, self-motivated and enthusiastic; have a fine character and integrity; be committed to serve in the education field; and be able to communicate effectively in Chinese and English.
