• (a)To provide secretariat support to Torture Claims Appeal Board Members/Adjudicators in handling appeals/petitions, including preparing replies, arranging translation/interpreters, arranging hearings and checking/formatting decisions.
• (b)To liaise with relevant government departments, appellants/petitioners and/or their legal representatives on matters relating to hearing and determining appeals/petitions.
• (c)To arrange meeting with illiterate appellants/petitioners and to handle requests for information from the appellants/petitioners.
• (d)To conduct research on the Country of Origin Information and compiling statistics.
• (e)To assist in matters relating to applications for judicial review and legal aid.
• (f)To perform any other duties as assigned by the seniors.

Candidates should have-

• (a)a Bachelor's degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
• (b)attained Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Grade C or above in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (See Note), or equivalent;
• (c)at least 3 years of full-time post-degree working experience;
• (d)pleasant personality and good interpersonal skills;
• (e)good command of English and Chinese.

Good command of foreign languages such as Tamil, Punjabi, Urdu and Nepalese would be an advantage.
