• (1)To assist in checking technical submissions / design reports / drawings of Fire Services Installations (FSIs) / smoke control systems; <br>
• (2)To assist in coordinating all engineering matters associated with the provision / improvement of fire safety measures; <br>
• (3)To solicit information and data in relation to the engineering aspects of design reports / equipment and systems proposed for use in projects / fire safety improvement works; <br>
• (4)To conduct technical surveys and investigation on site to ascertain feasibility of design; <br>
• (5)To assist in review of fire safety standards in relation to projects of different scales and complexities; <br>
• (6)To attend meetings and give advice to other Government departments, architects, Electrical & Mechanical consultants, registered FSI contractors on fire service and smoke control engineering details; <br>
• (7)To ensure that the detailed design and installation are in compliance with the design principles agreed between external parties and the Department; <br>
• (8)To update and maintain submission / drawing records; and <br>
• (9)To carry out any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

The candidate should - <br>

• (1)have a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical or Building Services Engineering from a Hong Kong Polytechnic / University or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / Technical Institute / Technical College, or equivalent; <br>
• (2)possess not less than 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience in building construction projects; <br>
• (3)have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (See Note 1); and <br>
• (4)possess general office computer skills.
