InvestHK is looking for a passionate, high-calibre, result-oriented professional as Global Head, Family Office. In this newly created role, you will need to deploy your first-rate strategic, execution and leadership skills to make an impact in the development of the Family Office Sector in Hong Kong. If you are driven to make a difference and contribute to the city’s further development as an International Financial Centre, this role presents a unique opportunity to drive, build and transform the Family Office ecosystem and help make Hong Kong a leading global hub for Family Offices, a key policy in the Chief Executive’s 2022 Policy Address.
The Role
Reporting to an Associate Director-General, you will be responsible for implementing Hong Kong’s Family Office Strategy in conjunction with other government bureaux and departments, regulators, and financial services industry stakeholders. You and your team will collaborate with and leverage other sector teams at InvestHK Headquarters, as well as our global network in 33 cities around the world.
You will need to demonstrate:
• the ability to develop, refine and implement a global strategy and plan to generate leads, and drive deep client engagement with Family Offices in target markets around the world;
• proven knowledge and experience in private wealth and Family Office investment business, customer acquisition, business development and retention;
• the ability to leverage your extensive network in Family Office in and outside Hong Kong;
• a track record of successfully collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies and regulators to drive impact and outcomes;
• leadership of high-performing teams, cross-border and multicultural teams;
• the ability to work independently under pressure, meeting targets and objectives and responding effectively to ad hoc requests at short notice;
• strong communication and public speaking skills; and
• the willingness to conduct regular international and Mainland business development and undertake travel.
Duties
(a) To lead the FamilyOfficeHK team to promote Hong Kong as a leading global hub for Family Offices, develop and implement an integrated investment promotion, marketing and PR strategy to attract Family Offices from around the world to establish a new set up or a satellite office and/or expand in Hong Kong via a one-stop concierge service platform;
(b) To collaborate with InvestHK’s global teams, develop and drive engagement programmes with international and local industry partners, government bodies and key stakeholders to build an effective network and outreach programmes in key Family Office hubs to generate a strong pipeline of family office targets and develop an attractive, unique and vibrant ecosystem in the city;
(c) To be the in-house expert on Family Office with in-depth knowledge and expertise on the interests, business and investment needs of targeted Family Offices and wealth owners in key target markets, and help connect them with opportunities and stakeholders in areas that might be of interest to them such as Philanthropy, Sustainability, Disruptive Technologies, and Art Trade;
(d) To develop and implement an annual flagship global Family Office conference in Hong Kong and drive a series of impactful events in key hubs around the world to tell the Hong Kong story, attract and engage with Family Offices and Asset Owners;
(e) To manage and monitor the performance of the team, ensure quality financial and operational management, and timely input to Policy Bureaux; and
(f) To support the directorate of InvestHK on duties and assignments as and when needed.
