(A) To coordinate original cataloguing, classification and processing of information sources (inter alia, books, periodicals and non-book materials);
(B) to assist in management of catalogue system on both Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) and backend platform, and the liaison with system contractors for syntax debugging, data screening and rectification;
(C) to undertake subject and classification analysis and assign appropriate subject headings and classification numbers; (D) to catalogue, classify and process according to international standards and local practices;
(E) to assist in the management of multimedia, audio-visual materials and e-resources, including but not limited to digital scores, concert recordings, online music promotional materials;
(F) to assist in authority control;
(G) to create and update item records;
(H) to assist in the management of daily operations, including circulation service, housekeeping, stocktaking etc.; and
(I) to perform other duties as assigned by senior officers.

Working Hours: Successful candidates may be required to work irregular hours, overtime and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Candidates should have
(A) i) a bachelor's degree from a university in Hong Kong majoring in Librarianship, Information Management, Music or equivalent; or
ii) a bachelor's degree from a university in Hong Kong or equivalent, with a recognised higher diploma in Librarianship, Library and Information Management, Music, or equivalent;
(B) Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (See Note);
(C) at least one year's full-time post-qualification working experience as cataloguer in libraries (preferably music-related libraries) or music related organisations;
(D) good command of spoken and written Chinese and English;
(E) Knowledge on integrated library systems and the use of general computer software;
(F) knowledge of Hong Kong and Chinese music is an advantage; and
(G) knowledge of AACR2, Resource Description and Asset (RDA), Excel VBA, MARC21, LC Subject Headings, DDC and Classification Scheme for Chinese Libraries.
