(a) To assist in the Scheme to Support Schools in Using Putonghua to teach Chinese Language Subject and to oversee or conduct related survey and research studies; (b) To monitor the Research Project on Putonghua Proficiency of Primary and Secondary Students in Hong Kong; (c) To conduct language related research studies, e.g. 'Language Landscape Studies'; (d) To prepare discussion paper and evaluation reports etc; (e) To liaise with external institutions / educational bodies; (f) To visit schools / educational bodies in the Mainland occasionally; and (g) To perform any other duties as and when required by supervisors.

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree or equivalent in Chinese Language and / or Chinese Language education; (b) a higher degree in Chinese Language or in Education or equivalent is preferred; (c) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution or equivalent; (d) Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the HKCEE or equivalent (See Note); (e) At least 6 years post-degree experience in educational research / primary or secondary teaching / writing textbooks of Chinese Language Subject; (f) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and (g) Good computer skills and knowledge of PC software including Chinese and English word processing, knowledge of computer. programming is preferred.
