(a) To take part in developing the English Language Education curriculum (including the development of curriculum documents and conduction of curriculum development visits) and in monitoring and evaluating its implementation; (b) to assist in planning, organising and providing in-service professional development programmes for teachers to facilitate the implementation of the English Language curriculum and other curriculum initiatives; (c) to assist in planning and organising, and to take part in curriculum support activities (including the development, production and dissemination of language learning and teaching resource materials, and examples of good practices); (d) to take part in conducting and monitoring curriculum innovation programmes, projects, research and evaluation; (e) to carry out support services; (f) to review English Language textbooks or learning packages; (g) to provide subject-related professional services and to participate in subject-related committees and tasks groups within and/or outside the EDB; (h) to develop, promote and implement language improvement measures; and (i) to perform administrative duties related to the day-to-day operation of the English Language Education Section as required.

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in a relevant subject and a certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent [see Note (ii)]; (b) 'Level 2' results in the two language papers [Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE)] in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent [see Note (iii) and (iv)]; (c) At least 6 years' relevant post-qualification experience in teaching or curriculum development [see Note (v)]; and (d) Preference will be given to candidates who have a higher degree related to curriculum studies, or equivalent.
