(a) To plan, develop and deliver centralised and school-based professional development programmes for English Language teachers; (b) to provide school-based on-site support/advice in teacher education and curriculum development for English Language teaching; (c) to lead, plan, organise, implement and evaluate special projects in fulfilling the objectives of the Native-speaking English Teacher (NET) Scheme, and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies in schools; (d) to develop learning and teaching materials related to English language teaching at Primary or Secondary Level; (e) to supervise a team of Advisory Teachers in providing on-site support in English Language Teaching; (f) to lead working committees in planning and organizing support to be given to schools in regard to teachers' professional development and students' activities; and (g) to perform any other duties with regard to the (NET) Scheme as and when required by the Secretary for Education or such other officers as the Secretary for Education may nominate.

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in English or relevant subject, or equivalent; and a certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent A higher degree in education is preferred [see Note (ii)]; (b) 'Level 2' results in the two language papers [Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE)] in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent [see Note (iii)]; (c) at least 6 years' relevant post-qualification experience in teaching or curriculum development; (d) excellent spoken and written English; (e) a Teaching of English as a Foreign Language or a Second Language (TEFL/TESL) qualification at least at certificate level is preferred; and (f) experience in language teacher education or curriculum development in English language education, research and development projects is preferred.
