The Contract Building Services Inspection Officer is mainly deployed to - (a) carry out acceptance inspections, compliance tests and other inspections on fire service installations and smoke control systems for railway projects in accordance with relevant fire safety requirements and check the supporting technical documents; (b) ensure the compliance of fire service installations and smoke control systems with the agreements reached with electrical and mechanical consultants and registered fire service installation contractors; (c) liaise with the railway company, electrical and mechanical consultants, registered fire service installation contractors, etc. and handle enquiries on matters relating to acceptance inspections and compliance tests to fire service installations and smoke control systems; (d) supervise the work of Contract Assistant Building Services Inspection Officer; and (e) carry out other duties as and when required.

The candidate should - (a) have a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical or Electrical Installation or Building Services Engineering from a Hong Kong polytechnic / polytechnic university or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical institute / technical college, or equivalent; (b) have a minimum of 8 years’ relevant post-qualification experience inclusive of at least 4 years’ working experience in building services installations; (c) have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (See Note); (d) possess general office computer skills; and (e) have a valid ‘Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate’.
