The Part-time Supervisory Fisheries Inspector is mainly deployed on (a) providing technical assistance and advice in relation to Inter-departmental Working Groups (IWGs) on ex-gratia allowance (EGA) for fishermen and mariculturists; (b) assisting in preparing documents for and attending meetings of the IWGs and Appeal Boards, if appropriate, for EGA for fishermen and mariculturists; (c) analysing and preparing reports for EGA for fishermen and mariculturists; (d) assisting in planning and conducting the registration exercise for EGA for fishermen and mariculturists; (e) assisting in vessel inspection during EGA registration for fishermen; and (f) assisting in training relevant staff on the concerned EGA matters.

The applicant must have (a) (i) a bachelor degree with major in natural science, marine ecology, environment, or environmental science from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; or (ii) a diploma or higher certificate for Laboratory Technician from a Hong Kong polytechnic / polytechnic university or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical institute / college, or equivalent; or (iii) a diploma or higher certificate in natural science, marine ecology, mechanical engineering, management studies, applied science or a related subject from a Hong Kong polytechnic / polytechnic university or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical institute / college; or equivalent; (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (Note 1) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent; and (c) eight years' post-qualification practical experience in the fisheries industry.
