Reporting to Head of CreateHK, SG(FDC) is responsible for – (a) supervising the Secretariat of the Film Development Council (FDC), which advises the Government on the formulation of long-term, medium-term and short-term strategies for the development of the film industry; (b) assisting Head of CreateHK in overseeing the administration and management of all public funds (including the Film Development Fund, the Film Guarantee Fund, and other funds for the film sector as appropriate) established to promote the development of the film industry, and assisting the FDC in formulating advice to the Government on the use of such funds; (c) conducting film-related researches and commissioning external studies; (d) implementing government initiated measures to revitalise the Hong Kong film industry and support its long-term development, and reviewing the effectiveness of these measures; (e) co-ordinating with the film industry and government/public organisations to ensure smooth implementation of all publicly funded film-related activities, and collaborating with them to promote the film industry; (f) representing Hong Kong in marketing and promoting Hong Kong films internationally; (g) liaising with relevant bureaux and departments on legislative measures (e.g. anti-piracy) to safeguard the interest of the film sector; and (h) overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Film Services Office of CreateHK, including general management and personnel matters. Applicants should be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and possess - (a) a Hong Kong bachelor degree or equivalent; (b) at least 10 years of work experience at a senior level with an organisation in the film industry, such as business and operational experience in production, distribution, promotion, marketing and/or financing of film. Knowledge in the development of the Mainland and overseas film industries and markets will be an advantage; (c) strong leadership, analytical and organisational capabilities; (d) good communication and management skills; and (e) a strong command of English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua will be an advantage.
