Assistant Maintenance Officers are mainly deployed to : (a) assist in monitoring the overall performance of consultants and the quality control of works done by work contractors taking charge of projects; (b) conduct audit checking on site to ensure the site works are completed to the required standards for projects of minor scope in nature; (c) check work progress and verify work done on site; (d) assist in the quality control, audit checking and coordination of more complicated projects; (e) check repair proposals and estimates prepared by consultants for projects of minor scope in nature; and (f) coordinate and liaise with consultants, works contractors and schools for projects of minor scope in nature.

(a) A Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building or Building Studies from Hong Kong Polytechnic University/Polytechnic or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) or a technical institute/technical college; or equivalent; (b) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (See Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and (c) At least three years' relevant post-qualification experience in building works.
