職責
技工（救生員）主要負責(a)泳池的拯溺和急救工作；(b)清潔泳池，並確保池水的質素和狀況符合規定的標準；(c)監察使用泳池的情況，確保使用人士遵守泳池的各項規定；(d)操作泳池過濾系統，檢驗池水的化學物質含量，並按標準調校至規定的水平；以及(e)確保泳池所有設施、化學品、工具和設備維持良好合用的狀況。

An Artisan (Life Guard) is mainly deployed on (a) lifesaving and first aid duties in the swimming pool; (b) cleaning duties of the swimming pool and ensuring that the water quality and condition meet the required standard; (c) supervising users for ensuring all swimming pool regulations are observed and complied with; (d) operating the swimming pool filtration system, testing the chemical content of the pool water and adjusting it to the required range; and (e) maintaining all pool facilities, chemicals, kits and equipment in good and serviceable condition.

入職條件
申請人必須：
(a) 修畢小六，或具備同等教育程度；
(b) 視覺敏銳度達6/60；
(c) 持有由香港拯溺總會頒發的有效泳池救生章和由聖約翰救傷會、香港紅十字會或醫療輔助隊頒發的有效急救證書；以及
(d) 中英文程度達小學六年級水平；以及能操流利粵語。

(c) a valid Pool Lifeguard Award issued by the Hong Kong Life Saving Society and a valid First Aid Certificate issued by The St. John Ambulance Association, Hong Kong Red Cross or Auxiliary Medical Service; and
(d) attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Primary 6 standard; and be able to speak fluent Cantonese.

為提高大眾對《基本法》的認知和在社區推廣學習《基本法》的風氣，政府會測試應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》知識。只會在兩位申請人的整體表現相若時，政府才會參考申請人在基本法知識測試中的表現。
